Description:
VMware vCenter Converter Standalone, VMware P2V and V2V converter is a free application for converting and migrating computers, servers and virtual machines to VMware virtual machines on Windows. Includes 3 components: server, agent, client

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone is a free application that is provided officially from the VMware website and can be installed on Windows to convert supported machine types to VMware virtual machines.

VMware vCenter Converter is called Standalone because it can be installed on a physical computer's operating system.
Additional Information:
Functions of VMware vCenter Converter Standalone

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone consists of the following components:

Converter Standalone Server is the main component that manages all conversion tasks and handles connections between other components.
Converter Standalone Agent is a component that allows you to convert a machine on which the agent is installed. If you install the agent on your local machine when you install VMware Converter, you can convert your physical computer to a virtual machine (VM).
Converter Standalone Client is a component that allows you to connect to a remote VMware Converter Standalone server and manage conversion tasks on this remote machine. The client provides a graphical user interface for VMware Converter.

When you run the VMware Converter installer, you can select which components to install. Two options are available:

Local installation. All three components are installed on the local machine (server, agent, and client).
Client-server installation (advanced). You can select the converter components you want to install.

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone can also be used to reconfigure existing virtual machines on ESXi hosts.
