Environmental data attribute updates
As part of a review of our sustainability data, there have been some updates to data values and attribute names, including:
- CO2 footprint, primary production (virgin grade) - renamed to Climate change (CO2-eq), primary production (virgin grade), and a reference data review
- CO2 footprint, primary production (typical grade) - renamed to Climate change (CO2-eq), primary production (typical grade), and a reference data review
- Embodied energy, primary production (virgin grade) - reference data review
- Embodied energy, primary production (typical grade) - reference data review
The following attributes have been renamed, data values updated, and definitions modified, to align with shifts in
industry terminology:

Updates to Eco Audit attributes and calculations
Calculations used by the Eco Audit tool have been updated to use the new sustainability attributes data values, ensuring you have access to the latest data for recycled content and end of life potential of materials. Continue to confidently assess the environmental footprint of your components and products using these updates.
As a result of the updates, some Eco Audit product files created in previous versions of the software may not be compatible with the new definitions and calculations. To avoid any errors, certain data values will not be displayed if older project files are opened in Granta EduPack 2024 R1 - if affected you will be alerted in the software and directed to an appropriate Help page for assistance in understanding the changes.

Ansys Grantaoffers a range of materials information management software, designed for companies to realize their in-house Material Intelligence. The market-leading Ansys Granta products have been developed over 25 years to enable you to capture, safeguard and capitalize on your organization's Material Intelligence.
Granta Selectorcombines comprehensive materials data with powerful selection and comparison tools, enabling you to make smart materials decisions. At the heart of Granta Selector is a database of materials and process properties. It comes pre-loaded with your choice of data from Granta's comprehensive library. Of particular value is MaterialUniverse - over 4,000 records providing properties for virtually every type of purchasable engineering material. A strength is that there are no 'holes' in this data - property values are either populated with known, referenced data or estimated using Ansys Granta technology. The result is that you can screen the complete 'universe' of candidate materials without excluding those for which you may not have complete data.
