Description:
Avidemux is a small, simple video editor that can be used both for processing and editing videos, and for converting video files from one format to another. All the most popular video formats are supported, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF. With Avidemux, you can perform basic cut, copy, paste, delete, resize a frame, split a file into multiple parts, and more. There are all kinds of filters for image and sound (resizing, deinterlacing, IVTC, sharpening, noise removal and others). There are ready-made settings for encoding video for some popular devices (iPhone, iPod, PSP, Microsoft Zune). To convert video files, you do not need to connect any external codecs or modules, Avidemux is distributed as an all-inclusive package. Codecs x264, x265, Xvid, LAME, TwoLAME, Aften and many others are already included in the program.

Avidemux is open source software. That is, the source code of such programs is available for viewing, studying and changing, which allows you to help refine the most open program, as well as use the code to create new programs and fix errors in them - through borrowing the source code, if the license allows, or studying used algorithms, data structures, technologies, techniques and interfaces (since the source code can significantly supplement the documentation, and in the absence of such, it itself serves as documentation).

In general, Avidemux is a very convenient tool for working with video files, which does not claim to be professional, but provides all the necessary functions for an amateur.

Bugfixes

Avidemux falling victim to a crash in VA-API driver triggered by probing on application startup on Linux with some recent hardware
Crash loading MPEG-TS or MPEG-PS file with MPEG-1 video track and HW decoder via VDPAU enabled
Wrong number of channels or wrong channel layout with some E-AC3 streams
Reduced contrast and desaturated colors in loaded BMP images
Selection starting at zero and ending at the last picture of video cannot be deleted
