No cooking experience needed. Ideally you should have a kitchen knife, bell pepper(s), an onion, a mango or peach, and some olive oil, salt and pepper.

Description
Welcome to the Knife Skills 101 Course by Vivront.We're a mission-driven kitchen shop located in Edina, Minnesota. We believe that curiosity is the best approach to learning, and you've already made a step in the right direction-your innate curiosity led you to click on this course!We typically offer a 90-minute in-person version of this course at our store. However, since education and accessibility are some of our key values as an organization, we decided to film the course and publish it here for our remote friends.We'll go over some kitchen knife basics, including ways to hold the knife, ways to hold the food, how to cut produce including peppers, onions, mangoes, and cilantro.You'll learn different types of blade shapes and how to use them to your advantage based on your food prep needs.You'll also learn about why knives go dull and how to keep them sharper longer. These knife skills are easiest accomplished when your knife is sharp. We offer on-site sharpening at our store in Edina. If you can't drop your knives off in-person, you can mail your knives to us and we'll get them back to you, performance-ready.
