This course is designed to teach you basic skills in interpreting chest X rays. The focus is on diagnosing common conditions that healthcare professionals encounter in the day to day work. More than 100 high quality chest x rays with varied presentations are reviewed in this course. Multiple chest x rays are discussed for every single commonly encountered medical conditions. The overall approach is to have less theory and more practical discussion of chest x rays. After the completion of this course, you would develop a visual memory and basic mental framework to rapidly analyze any chest x ray within minutes. Your visual memory would help you in arriving at possible differentials quicker. I have endeavored to make you proficient in diagnosing frequently encountered diagnoses like pneumonia, pneumothorax, fibrosis, mass lesion, cavity, hydropneumothorax, pleural effusion, cardiomegaly, collapse etc. The objective is to not make mistakes in diagnosing common everyday conditions. Once you have mastery in diagnosing these conditions you can advance further for complex chest x ray presentations. The course would be useful for medical students, nursing students and resident trainees in specialties like internal medicine, family medicine, surgery, respiratory medicine etc. This knowledge is vital and would help you throughout your healthcare professional career.
