The five iinfluential women writers discussed in Seymour-Jorn's timely work-Salwa Bakr, Nemat el-Behairy, Radwa Ashour, Etidal Osman, and Ibtihal Salem-all emerged on the literary scene in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
