Learn detailed design of process control feedback loops and PID controller by Simulink at Matlab
What you'll learn:
Learn the fundamentals of Simulink and how to utilize it in process control.
Apply process controllers design in Simulink at Matlab.
Learn the fundamentals of feedback loop design in Simulink.
Find the solution to real-life dynamic process control design problem by Simulink.
Requirements:
Students need to have Simulink software from Matlab software on their laptop/pc to practice.
Basic knowledge about process control and feedback loops.
Description:
This course teaches you the fundamentals of designing PID controllers and feedback closed-loops using Simulink. Moreover, you will learn how to check for the stability of the control loop as well as tuning your controller (using offline and online methods) by Simulink. After completing this course, you will be able to design a new feedback control loops in Simulink, check their performance, rate their stability, check the speed of taking actions, check the required time for set point change and disturbance rejection. The optimum use of design software is a key skill of chemical / process / Control / Instrumentation Engineering students as well as professionals working on similar fields. The feedback control loop is the most widely used loop in industry to control processes in oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The PID controllers play an important role to take actions to make the process running smooth and return it back to steady state conditions after a set point change by the operator or a disturbance coming into the picture that causes the process to work out of desired specs. A control loop has to be designed to ensure a good performance avoiding operational issues like instability and oscillation. This is achieved by the optimum tuning and selection of controller parameters. This course will guide you on how to apply all of these concepts using Simulink at Matlab software.
Who this course is for:
A student doing a bachelor's degree in chemical/control/instrumentation/process engineering.
A professional who wants to learn about designing feedback loops in Simulink and simulate their dynamic behaviour.
