Description
This course is the first part of the lecture series of Operations Research course. It takes you through various topics like Introduction to Operations Research, Introduction to Linear Programming Problem(LPP), Formulation of LPP, LPP Solution using Graphical Method, LPP Solution using Simplex Method, LPP Solution using Two Phase Method and LPP Solution using BIG M Method. Various numerical are solved to explain the concepts and their applications. Basic Mathematics and Basic Knowledge of Management subjects are the requirement for understanding of this subject.
We start with
Introduction to Operations Research
and then discusses about the Scope of Operations Research (OR), Advantages and Limitations of OR, Types of Mathematial Models in OR and Classification Schemes of Models in OR.
Further, we move to the concept of
Introduction to Linear Programming (LP)
and then discusses about
Requirements of LPP, Advantages & Limitations, Mathematical Formulation of LPP, Assumptions in Linear Programming Models in OR, Applications of Linear Programming Method in OR and Areas of Application of Linear Programming in OR. Further there are numericals discussed on Formulation of LPP.
Third section deals with
LPP Solution using GRAPHICAL Method
. Numericals are solved for the same.
Fourth section discusses about the theory and numericals on
LPP Solution using SIMPLEX Method
.
LPP Solution using Two Phase Method
is explained in the fifth section along with numericals.
Lastly
LPP Solution using Big M Method
is discussed in theory and numericals form.
