The Team StataCorp is pleased to announce the availability ofStata 17 (rev.14112023)is a complete, integrated statistical package that provides everything you need for data analysis, data management, and graphics.

1. The Java Development Kit that is redistributed with Stata is now updated to version 17.0.9+8-LTS acquired from Azul Systems.
2. frame now posts frame to c(prefix). See set prefix.
3. areg with options absorb(absorbvar) and vce(cluster clustvar), where absorbvar differed from clustvar and in the rare case where the number of clusters was less than the rank of the VCE without clustering, produced an incorrect e(rmse), root mean squared error. This has been fixed.
4. gsem, meglm, melogit, meprobit, mecloglog, meologit, meoprobit, mepoisson, menbreg, and mestreg, when called with user version less than 15, incorrectly used modern stripe syntax for variance components, like /:var(I[group]) instead of var(I[group]):_cons. This has been fixed.
5. Mata functions st_matrixcolstripe() and st_matrixrowstripe(), when attaching row and column stripes to Stata matrices, failed to abort with an error message when the specified stripe strings were not valid, for example, if a string was too long. This has been fixed.
6. Mata function __lnmvnormalden() caused a memory leak that could be observed when the function was called repeatedly with large matrix arguments. This has been fixed.
7. npregress kernel and npregress series, when specified with qualifier if and a function with comma-separated arguments, exited with an uninformative error message. This has been fixed.
8. predict after cpoisson fit a constant-only model exited with an uninformative error message. This has been fixed.
9. predict, when specified with options te or cmean after teffects aipw, produced incorrect predictions. This has been fixed.
10. stci with option emean or rmean, when the dataset contained delayed-entry subjects, sometimes reported mean survival times that were too small. This has been fixed.
11. sts list, when the dataset was stset with option scale(), in rare cases did not display the last observed time. This has been fixed.
12. teffects aipw, when used with treatment-assignment model hetprobit(), could yield imprecise standard error estimates or lack of convergence for models that should have converged. This has been fixed.
13. telasso with option atet produced an incorrect standard error for the potential outcome mean (POM). This has been fixed.

Statais the package of choice for panel data, survival analysis, time series, survey data, longitudinal data, multilevel models, SEM, endogenous covariates, sample selection, Bayesian analysis, multiple imputation, LCA, causal inference, and much more. Stata makes modeling and inference easy for all types of outcomes - continuous, binary, ordinal, categorical, count, and fractional. Stata has both a point-and-click interface and a powerful, programmable, and reproducible command syntax.
TheStata 17release provides 29 additional features, including new statistical algorithms for Bayesian statistical analyses, interval-censored Cox models, multivariate meta-analysis, and advanced lasso techniques. The reimagined table and etable commands now allow for standard and customizable tables for the web, Microsoft Word, and LaTeX. Notably, Stata 17 includes a collect command that automatically stores results from an analysis, and those results can be displayed in publication-quality tables using etable. After creating a table, easily export it into your report.
Stata/MPis the fastest and largest edition of Stata. Speed is often most crucial when performing computationally intense estimation procedures. Stata/MP provides the most extensive multicore support ( up to 64 cores/processors ) of any statistics and data management package, what lets you analyze data in one-half to two-thirds the time compared with Stata/SE on inexpensive dual-core laptops and in one-quarter to one-half the time on quad-core desktops and laptops. Stata/MP runs even faster on multiprocessor servers.
