Description
Surface treatment is the systematic change of material properties by applying different types of materials using physical, chemical, or physical-chemical processes. The aim is to achieve a product surface more resistant to external atmospheric influences, better durability. Surface treatment improves corrosion and abrasion resistance, hardness, and visual appearance. The goal of this course is to increase awareness of surface treatments to general audience and provide missing theoretical information to professionals, corrosion engineers, surface treatment specialist and people working with coating technologies. The course is separated to multiple courses. Courses has been divided into the few main areas. They describe main history milestones and persons which influence surface treatments. Coatings history is described from dawn of mankind till 20th century. Following courses covering main materials used in manufacturing companies, product integration, facility integration. Course number five describe the most common surface pre-treatments, from mechanical surface pre-treatment up to ultrasonic cleaning. Following courses describes Inorganic coatings, for example anodic oxidation. Thermo-Chemical Surface Treatments such as Nitriding or Boriding. Organic Coatings is focused on painting with paints. Thin Films Depositions talks about interesting surface treatments such as sputtering or evaporation. Surface Treatments of Electrical Vehicles and Batteries cover a coatings used in manufacturing companies which produce EV vehicles. Other Types of Surface Treatments and Coatings, and last three courses deal with various special types of coatings, such as Chemical Milling, Spin Coating, Diamond Like Carbon Coating, Three-dimensional overlay process, Vantablack Application. Course Future of Surface Treatments is trying to predict, which way coating and finishing industry will go. I do wish you good time watching and hope you will enjoy it.I do believe, that the field of surface treatment is very interesting, and we all see the results of coating technologies all see around us.
