In this lesson, you will learn how to use the "freeze panes" feature in Excel so that you can see your header row even when you scroll down to the bottom of your sheets.Unlock Cells and Protect Sheets (5:59) Want to share your workbook with others but not let them change certain info in cells such as social security numbers, personal info, etc. This lesson shows you how to lock certain cells so that the contents can't be changed by accident.Charts (18:07) Many people prefer looking at a visual representation of the data in a spreadsheet. Excel charts let you illustrate your workbook data graphically to see trends. Tables have many features, such as sorting and filtering, that will help you organize and view your data. In this lesson, we will show you how to convert your range of data into a table and the many advantages of using a table.Pivot Tables (17:03) Pivot tables are one of Excel's most powerful features. This is where sorting and filtering come into play. This lesson will show you how to sort and filter your data and also show you how to create subtotals easily.Data Validation (Want a Dropdown List?) (15:44) In Human Resource spreadsheets, there are many instances where you are typing specific data into the cells such as "yes" or "no" or "pass" or "fail". Maybe you'd like to create a dropdown list of your company's departments to choose from. In this lesson, you will learn how to use data validation to constrain what you (or others) can type into certain cells.Printing Your Sheets (15:28) The one thing you'd think would be easy to do in Excel can be frustrating (and a waste of lots of paper). In this lesson, you will learn why you can't just hit the print button in Excel, how to set the printable area of the sheets and lots of other helpful info about printing in Excel.Conditional Formatting (11:30) Do you need to keep your eye on the numbers in certain cells going over a set amount? For example, maybe you have a column of numbers which has your employee hours worked for the week. Now you have to look through that column and find all the hours worked that are over 40 (because you have to pay overtime on these). With Conditional Formatting, you can have all the numbers in that column that are over 40 displayed in a different color! This lesson will teach you how to use conditional formatting to make it easier to identify things in your spreadsheets.Workshop Materials Include:16 topics with over 4 hours of video content.
