Requirements
For this course, you will need a Wi-Fi Nugget to participate in each module, however you can still follow along with any ESP8266-based breakout board.
You will need a computer with a Chrome-based browser to navigate the Wi-Fi Nugget's web interface.
You will need a microUSB cable that supports power AND data transfer
Description
We use Wi-Fi connected devices every day of our lives, from our phones, laptops, smart TVs, home security cameras, and anything else you can think of. Yet, while technology helps improve our lives by keeping everything connected to the world around us, those connections inherently have vulnerabilities, and there are malicious actors who attempt to exploit these vulnerabilities for their own benefit. In this interactive course, you will learn about four simple, yet effective Wi-Fi hacking techniques that hackers employ and how to take the best defensive posture to defend yourself should you ever become the target of one of these attacks. Four hands-on workshops using the Wi-Fi Nugget, will show you how hackers are able to craft and execute social engineering campaigns using techniques such as deceptive QR codes, Wi-Fi phishing pages, beacon swarms, denial-of-service attacks, and man-in-the-middle attacks, to divulge sensitive information from a target and gain access to vulnerable devices. The course includes 5 lectures and accompanying quizzes that cover various topics on Wi-Fi hacking and cybersecurity as well as learning how simple Wi-Fi microcontrollers work and how to use them, how to run scripts through web serial, and how a hacker would craft a convincing phishing page.
