Description:
Free and open source hybrid synthesizer. Numerous synthesis methods, a large selection of filters, a flexible modulation engine, a range of effects, and state-of-the-art features such as MPE and microtuning.
If you have used it in the past, it will be like bringing an old friend back into your life. If you're new to Surge XT, welcome to the party.

Each patch contains two scenes, which are separate instances of the entire synthesis engine (excluding effects) that can be used for layered or split patches.

3 oscillators per stage.
12 universal generator algorithms: Classic, Modern, Wavetable, Window, Sine, FM2, FM3, String, Twist, Alias, S&H Noise and audio input.
The classic oscillator is a convertible pulse/saw/double saw generator with auxiliary oscillator and hard sync.
The modern oscillator is a mixed saw/pulse/triangle oscillator with an additional auxiliary oscillator mode for delta (and it can also change to sine or square) and hard sync.
The FM2 and FM3 generators consist of a carrier, 2 or 3 modulators and various options.
The string oscillator uses two filtered waveguides to simulate plucked or bowed string sounds.
The Twist Oscillator is based on the very famous Eurorack Macro Oscillator and offers many synthesis options in a very easy to use way.
Most algorithms (except FM2, FM3, Twist and Audio Input) offer up to 16 unisons at the oscillator level.
FM generator in 3 different configurations and ring modulation between generators 1-3 and 2-3.
Most of the generation algorithms (with the exception of FM2, FM3, Sine and Alias) are strictly band-limited, but still cover the entire audible spectrum, providing a clear, piercing and at the same time clear sound.
Variable spectrum noise generator (available directly in the generator mixer).

Two filter banks in 8 different configurations.
The feedback loop is available in 7 of these configurations.

Filters can self-oscillate and respond remarkably quickly to changes in cutoff frequency.
Waveshaper (43 shapes).

There are 12 LFOs available, 6 for voice and 6 for full stage.
DAHDSR envelope generators on each LFO.
The LFO shapes consist of 7 deformable LFO waveforms, a step sequencer, a full-fledged multi-segment envelope generator (MSEG) with various curves and up to 128 nodes, and last but not least, a formula modulator that uses the Lua scripting language to provide a fully customizable modulator output.
Voice LFOs allow you to re-trigger an envelope in step sequencer mode.
Extremely fast and flexible modulation routing. Almost every continuous parameter can be modulated.
