Description This beginners' yoga course is a practical, introductory course, aimed at students who have not practiced yoga for a while and would like to refresh the basics, or students who have not practiced yoga before. The aim of the course is to provide a solid foundation, so that the students can continue with their practice either online or to join a yoga studio once they have completed the course.The course focuses on the foundation yoga poses / asanas that are covered in key 6 classes. These classes work through standing poses, back-bending poses, forward folding poses, twists, and an introduction to the Sun Salutations. Poses are mostly called by their English names to make the course more accessible for all.Correct positioning of legs and arms are covered in each lesson, as well as guidelines to adjust the postures for the student's comfort, and how to practice safely. The classes include an introduction to breathwork and gives guidance on synchronizing the breath with movement.The course is not theoretical but includes additional information on some of the terminology that is used, to provide clarity and create a deeper understanding of the yoga practice.There are also 5 bonus classes included in the course, which comprise of two additional pranayama / breathing techniques, and three classes offered workshop-style to assist with adjustments to protect wrists, knees and shoulders while also strengthening these joints, to aid a safer practice.The course introduction explains what equipment is needed to start the course, and at the beginning of each lesson, the equipment required for the specific lesson is highlighted.At the end of each lesson, there is an opportunity to submit questions for clarification.
