Sometimes, you want to delete some files for good. Although emptying your recycle bin is claimed to permanently remove the respective data, that generally doesn't go into effect until a bit later. Use a dedicated recovery tool shortly after "permanently" deleting a file, and you'll likely be able to retrieve it just fine.
All of this has to do with how sectors respond to data deletion. Until they're overwritten, your data remains recoverable in some capacity. If you want to fully erase certain files, Real Wiper is a simple utility that makes the whole process straightforward enough for all.
With Real Wiper, what you see is essentially what you get. The program wastes no time with niceties as it provides you with direct access to its data wiping features right out the gate.
To proceed, simply add the files or folders you wish to permanently delete from your computer, then click the Start Wipe! button to begin the process. It shouldn't take long, so you'll have no problem mass-deleting numerous files.
Before wiping your data, I would advise double-checking everything beforehand. As deletion is permanent this time, it's imperative to be cautious and check that the files you truly wish to erase have been added.
The fastest algorithm is incidentally the default one, and for most users, it should suffice. What it does is it overwrites the sectors containing the respective data with random strings, preventing any recovery attempt.
Alternatively, there's also the slower, but more comprehensive US DoD 5220.22-M algorithm, which the program recommends for deleting especially sensitive data. During my usage, this wasn't that much slower than the default, so if you have a few photos, videos, or documents to wipe, going with this option isn't a bad idea.
Real Wiper is a simple data deletion program without any bells and whistles. Full data deletion doesn't have to be complicated, so this app's approach is certainly to be appreciated.
