We hit the highway with a never-before-seen pairing of Tahmina Ghaffar and David Harper. She’s a newbie with plenty of impressive expertise, while he’s a dab hand who’s clocked up many a mile on his 'road trip-o-meter'. The couple share a classic sporty Datsun 280ZX and start out from rural Lancashire with winning in mind. David picks up some shot glasses and a huge pot for some sugar and spice, while Tahmina leans into her fighting spirit with some fencing gear and a crocodile nutcracker. The duo stop for a classic local lunch of butter pie, but who will be on a high at the auction?

It’s the second leg of our long-distance rummage with Tahmina Ghaffar and David Harper. David falls for some puppy dog eyes and a green face, while Tahmina bags a couple of brooches and a peacock for luck. Then they don hard hats to take on the dizzying height of the iconic Tyne Bridge before it gets a spruce-up, to discover the woman who brought her vision to life. This time, they reach Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. Many miles covered and many still to go, but their little Datsun 280ZX is bearing up nicely. David shares his knowledge of the world with a Ching dynasty wedding basket and a Scandinavian lamp, while Tahmina brings out her inner child with some vintage sporting games. Both of them top their lots off with unique flourishing finials, but whose will reach the sky at auction?

Tahmina’s determined to come out on top today, so she follows her passions. Sojourning through the south west, Tahmina’s drawn to all things eastern, including Chinese silk lotus shoes, a temple bronze and an Islamic scribe’s tool made out of brass, whereas David casts his net wide on a tea picker’s basket, a tobacco jar and some Georgian furniture. They stop off in Hereford to explore the cathedral’s amazing, chained library and uncover the stories on its mappa mundi. But as they head to auction, the white gloves are off!

It’s the end of road trip for newbie Tahmina Ghaffar’s quest with veteran David Harper. They’re touring the glorious and historic Pembrokeshire coast in a Datsun 280ZX, and the tension is high. Tahmina hopes she can win the bidders’ hearts with a collection of shoe-themed items and some childish nostalgia, whereas David opts for an eclectic mix of railwayana, Indian art and a very good-looking bulldog, or is it a pug? Stopping for a spot of lunch in St David’s, our daring duo delight in a delicious dining experience, complete with bug burger and bug bolognese. And they get up close and personal with some live creepy-crawlies to broaden their horizons. At auction, will Tahmina’s hopes of the win go down her very old potty?
